Video Awards: “FEEDback Farmers”

“FEEDback Farmers”

Winning entry at the MFA’s Youth Video competition

Directed and produced by Freda Han, Robin Alviedo, and Wei Han, this video provides a glimpse into a different vision of a food system for Singapore – one that is circular, with feedback loops, resilient, and active. As the winning finalists, the team joined the Singapore Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ delegation to the UN High Level Panel of Experts (HLPE) Forum.

FEEDback Farmers looks at Singapore’s food sustainability through the lens of 3 ordinary individuals. A retired architect, an HDB farming hobbyist and a founder of a local initiative, the short film documents the journey of these individuals and the people around them as they work towards a more sustainable food consumption and production future for Singapore – through establishing a more intimate relationship with the source of our food. It shows how small efforts from the grounds up can build up a momentum. Resilience is the ability to bounce back from shocks and challenges, and it can only become a reality through the unity of everyone. Therefore, this short film is a display of Singapore’s resilience; it is also an inspiration and a call to action!
